April 6th is Tartan Day and the St. Andrew Society is celebrating with a Bring Your Own Picnic at Franklin Park!
This is a laid back, low key event where you can participate as much or as little as you’d like. The park is family friendly with a great playground for kids. We’ll have a photo scavenger hunt, some Scottish trivia, maybe some piping, dancing, and a parade.
So bring your favorite picnic and wear your tartan, Let's celebrate!
Franklin Park is located at Roe and Somerset Drive in, Prairie Village, KS
In the US, it was declared ‘Tartan Day’ by the Senate in 1998 to celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions made by Scottish Americans to the United States. Tartan Day is held on April 6, the date on which the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320!
